Dear ,
So much has changed in the world since our last Impact of Giving newsletter.
During these turbulent times, one constant is the power philanthropy has to make a difference in the world. I’m excited to share a wonderful range of stories in this issue, exploring what inspires donors and volunteers to give, and how areas ranging from crop sciences to computing, and museums to student athletics, benefit from philanthropy.
What has inspired me most throughout these difficult times is how so many alumni and friends have asked: “how can we help?” The University and Colleges have received extraordinary support for Cambridge’s response to COVID-19, for which I am incredibly grateful. Many of you have given to our research, our students who face unexpected hardships, and our efforts to bring much-needed PPE to frontline workers in the NHS and social care. These efforts have shown the best of our community’s response to this pandemic.
I hope you and yours continue to remain safe and well.
Yours,
Alison
