Carcanet has been publishing its “NEW POETRIES” collections every three years or so since 1994, highlighting the best of new original work from British, North American, Asian and other writers for 24 years. The publishing house was founded in 1969 by Mexican-British poet Michael Schmidt, OBE, who was Writer in Residence at St Johns’ College from 2012 to 2015, and a visiting fellow at Trinity College in 2017-18.

The anthology features around a dozen of each of the alumni poets’ work.
