The Sensory Garden, a new chapter in Girton College gardening
The Sensory Garden, a new chapter in Girton College gardening
The idea of a sensory garden at Girton College came about during the pandemic, when former Mistress, Susan J. Smith felt inspired by the sensory garden down in the Girton village. A garden design competition was launched and several of these entries were combined to create a final design. Upon Julia’s arrival she was presented with this design which was used to create the final garden. In this talk we will look at the development of the sensory garden from start to finish, its importance as well as at its future. The talk will finish with a Q&A session and a tour of the Sensory Garden.
