There are 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Northern Adriatic which have earned their status as a result of their exceptionally well-preserved architecture and mosaics – Ravenna, Aquileia and Poreč.

In this talk Nirvana Romell, expert in West European Art, takes you on a tour to these incredible sites. Together you will explore the historical backgrounds of these specular sites, and discuss their spectacular Byzantine and early-Christian mosaics. Find out more about the aesthetics and iconography behind their creation, and why the politics of the past still echoes within their walls.
