During this session, six teams of alumni will come together to debate some of the most pressing issues facing business and society. Each alumnus/na who volunteers to participate in the event will join a debate team, wherein along with two other alumni they will be assigned and then prepare for a live debate on one of the following topics:

  1. This house believes that the latest wave of automation and ubiquitous computing is going to free workers up to undertake new, better jobs, and thereby expand the middle class.
  2. This house believes that universal basic income is good for society and for business.
  3. This house believes that addressing “grand challenges” (e.g. Sustainable Development Goals) requires “grand solutions”.

To express your interest in taking part as an active participant in this session, please contact festival@alumni.cam.ac.uk  and we will be in touch with more information.
