Professor Robin Coningham

Professor Coningham studied archaeology and anthropology at King’s College, Cambridge and has spent over 25 years conducting archaeological research across South Asia, including co-directing a major excavation at Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.
He holds the Chair of Early Medieval Archaeology at Durham University and in 2014 was appointed the inaugural holder of UNESCO’s Chair on Archaeological Ethics and Practice in Cultural Heritage.
