Dr Hannah Trayford

Dr Hannah Trayford has been working with, and studying primates since 2004.  Her main focus has been with primates in Borneo and Sumatra, with a particularly passion and interest in orang-utans.  She has completed three degrees with orang-utans as her main focus, including a Masters from the University of Oxford, and her doctorate from the University of Cambridge.  Her work focused on the intrinsic link between welfare and conservation by assessing the rehabilitation process for displaced orang-utans at multiple rescue centres. She has also provided education and training workshops to project staff to improve welfare standards of animals in their care, conducted conservation education for adults and children, and presented her work at several conferences, including as an invited speaker.  

Dr Trayford is now an independent Animal Welfare and Conservation Consultant.
