Chiara de Nicolais graduated from Islamic art and architecture from SOAS and after spending ten years in the commercial sector at Christie's and then Sotheby's as a specialist in Islamic art, she was a curator in the Middle East department at the Victoria & Albert Museum and is now is a lecturer at SOAS on Islamic Art.  She has accompanied previous journeys for Distant Horizons.
