Dr Marie-Louise Lillywhite

Dr Marie-Louise Lillywhite is an Art Historian whose research focuses particularly on sacred art and architecture in early-modern Venice, as well as on the arts and material culture of the Jesuit Order in south-east Asia. Dr Lillywhite has written about topics that include the decoration and significance of the Jesuit’s first church in Venice, the patronage of parish priests and confraternities of the Blessed Sacrament, and the garden of Bevis Bawa in Sri Lanka. Prior to coming to Oxford Dr Lillywhite lectured in the History of Art Department at the University of Warwick.
