Inaugural Norfolk Cambridge Society lecture
The first Norfolk Cambridge Society lecture was held on 4 October in the Blake Studio, Norwich School. It was delivered by Professor Christopher Andrew of Corpus Christi, an Emeritus Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Britain’s leading intelligence historian and the former official historian of MI5. The subject matter was '500 years of Cambridge spies – lessons for the modern world'. Over 190 people attended the lecture, 75% of whom were Cambridge alumni. We are extremely grateful to Norwich School for agreeing to host these lectures and providing us with so much support. The lecture was followed by drinks and book signing in the Refectory. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Strong support was expressed for the objectives of the lecture series, which are to:
- Celebrate the rigorous pursuit and dissemination of truth by leading academics and other great minds.
- Provide a regular meeting place for Cambridge alumni and others of like mind, living in Norfolk.
2018 Freshers' Party
Thirteen freshers attended the annual Freshers' Party at the Great Hospital on 25 September, organised by Andrew Barnes and HH Alasdair Darroch. Judging by the hubbub of conversation throughout, this too was a highly successful event.
