King George I established the Regius Professorship of Modern History in 1724. Today, the Faculty of History is one of the largest history departments in the world.

The History Faculty has a range of funds to support our teaching, research and to complete our major refurbishment project for the iconic Stirling Building. Donors are invited to select the appropriate fund – all are important to us and in urgent need of support.

Faculty’s Priorities and Funding Opportunities:

  • Student support (graduate/undergraduate)
  • Fund new posts (in the Faculty, or in collaboration with a College)
  • Renew the Stirling Building of the Faculty of History

More information can be found on the Faculty of History website.

Our donors make a real difference to the wellbeing and education of our undergraduates. They help us reach out to the most talented school students and ensure that they can thrive at Cambridge, whatever their background. They provide bursaries and prizes for our graduate students, books for our library and much more. We are grateful to the global and diverse community of alumni and supporters who enable us to provide a world-class history education to our students and support our exciting research projects. Thank you!
