Research in the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience is primarily in three major areas: cellular and systems physiology, developmental and reproductive biology, and neuroscience.

The Department has core strengths in integrative biology and neuroscience at the developmental, cellular, and systems levels. It also hosts flourishing undergraduate and graduate communities, alongside a large number of postdoctoral researchers. Cambridge Neuroscience encapsulates the importance of a robust interdisciplinary approach to increasing our understanding of brain function and enhancing quality of life. A global centre of excellence, Cambridge Neuroscience draws together research and galvanises collaborations across the University’s numerous participating Departments and Institutes, harnessing the world-leading expertise at Cambridge.

The Jill and Eddie Broadway Fund

It was the wish of the late Mr Edward Broadway OBE that his body be donated to The Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience for medical teaching and research. Sadly due the current circumstances caused by Covid-19 it was not possible to carry out Mr Broadway’s wishes, and his family would instead welcome donations to the Department in memory of Mr Eddie & Mrs Jill Broadway.

Both Mr and Mrs Broadway were interested and supportive in a number of research projects and your donations will contribute to the training of medical students as well as to ongoing medical research.
