This event will launch CAMentrepreneurs in Vancouver with a pilot event hosted by Richard Lucas founder of CAMentrepreneurs with Sarah Lubik Executive Director, Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship SFU. Other speakers to follow. After the event, those who want will migrate to a nearby bar with food.

About the event

Expand your network in Vancouver by meeting Cambridge alumni, students and others interested in entrepreneurship. There are more than 1500 Cambridge and Oxford Alumni in Vancouver so there is every reason to think that we could have a thriving group if 2% or more are into entrepreneurship. Our inclusive network offers local connections and global reach for entrepreneurs as well as the opportunity to re-connect with the Cambridge eco-system

This first event will enable prospective members to discuss the kinds of events they would enjoy attending or organising in Vancouver.

Richard Lucas, founder of CAMentrepreneurs, will share his insights on the potential of the network to create value not just in Vancouver but also around the world. The majority of CAMentrepreneurs never attended an Alumni event until they came to one of ours.

Our events have a strong focus on participant engagement - be prepared to meet new people and make new connections.

If you want to make a short community announcement or pitch a business idea please let us know.

Canadian Covid Rules will be followed at this event. We will update the day before.

If you are interested in helping make a Vancouver group thrive, please fill in this form, so we can contact you before the launch. If you are very keen to come, please use the "get involved" form, or make contact with Richard Lucas directly. We will give priority to those who want to help run CAMentrepreneurs in Vancouver.

We are targeted at:

Alumni of the University and Judge Business School who are in business, want to invest in/start companies, make new connections, find clients, co-founders, team members. Students who are interested in entrepreneurship, finding investors, co-founders, jobs, internships, freelancing opportunities. If you are an SFU student with a business idea or strongly supportive of entrepreneurship we encourage you to apply to attend. While CAMentrepreneurs is centred on Cambridge University connected people, we are open to co-operation with other people and organisations that are interested in supporting entrepreneurship.

About CAMentrepreneurs

The purpose of CAMentrepreneurs is to support business and social entrepreneurship among Cambridge University alumni, current students and others. CAMentrepreneurs is global. Since its launch CAMentrepreneurs has held 38 events in Cambridge, Dubai, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helsinki, Houston, London, New York, Sydney and Warsaw.

CAMentrepreneurs operates on a TED -> TEDx model, in that we only launch a group when there are people in the city concerned who want to take the lead in getting a group off the ground (and there is sufficient interest).

The group is officially recognised by Cambridge University Alumni Association as per here. We have our own private social network here Our webpage is here and we have a Linkedin Group.

We aim to bring together positive minded alumni and others who want to work together on a voluntary basis to support enterprise, whether as entrepreneurs, investors, students or service providers.

Non-Cambridge students and graduates are welcome as guests.

* If you have medical reasons confirmed by a doctor why you cannot be vaccinated, contact us ahead of time to make arrangements.

We are very pleased to thank Venture Labs, who are partnering with CAMentrepreneurs for this event, helping us promote it, and get us off to the best start possible in Vancouver.
