Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of New South Wales for their Thinking at Twilight with guest speaker and fellow alum Simon Smith.

Our event will be held at the University & Schools Club, where we can enjoy drinks and canapes followed by Simon Smith's story, from economics at Cambridge to leading the 'gig economy' business Ola, the main competitor to Uber in Australia. He will also explain how Covid has affected his last 12 months and his outlook on the future.

Speaker: We welcome guest speaker and fellow alum Simon Smith. Simon studied Economics (first class) at Trinity Hall year (1986-89), and then began his career at McKinsey. He has worked across large online organisations such as eBay and Sportsbet, data analytics business Quantium and fast-moving consumer goods companies, Lion, Sheridan, Tontine as well as B2B brands King Gee and Servcorp. Simon has extensive international experience and most recently was Head of International for Ola, the ride-sharing company. His talk will focus on the gig economy and digital business in general, so have your questions ready.

Dress code: Business Attire (collared shirt & jacket for men; women jacket not required - sorry no jeans, Tshirts or trainers)

Covid-safe: this is a seated event in the spacious and airy Dangar Room on the ground floor.
