Perth - The Oxford and Cambridge Dinner
Friday 7 February 2020, 6.30pm to 10.30pm AWST
Alumni and guests are invited to join the Oxford University Society of Western Australia and the Cambridge University Society of Western Australia, for their annual Oxbridge dinner with guest speaker Professor Lyn Beazley AO - Opening the eyes of young Western Australians to their opportunities in Oxford, Cambridge, and beyond.
"My years at Oxford were lifechanging. I was the first in my family to go to university, and my basis for choosing Somerville was that it had a bus stop conveniently outside the front gate! And in the end, my time in Oxford did so much to foster my lifelong fascination with science, and all the good it can do in the world.
Now, chairing WA's PRISM alliance, I am just delighted to help pay this forward, to new generations. We are encouraging the state's most capable students towards all manner of prestigious scholarships - from Rhodes to Fulbright to the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship. Supporting our talented young people at such a pivotal moment in their life journey can bring such dividends for us all."
