Northumbria - Spring Walk in Belsay
This event is in the past.
The combination of a garden tour and a walk is always a firm favourite with alumni and this year on Saturday, 20 May, the Northumbrian Cambridge Association will be heading for Belsay Hall in the Northumberland countryside.
English Heritage takes care of the 14th century castle, with its later additions, and the Hall, which was built in the early 19th century in neo-classical style. Building stone for the Hall was quarried from the grounds of the castle and a quarry garden created.
The visit will begin with a tour of the quarry garden and castle, followed by lunch in the Hall’s Victorian Tearoom, and then a choice of the shorter (Cragwood) or longer (Bolam Lake to Shaftoe Crags) walk (or a visit to the Hall).
