Ilminster - Lunchtime talk on The Eden Project
Ilminster - Lunchtime talk on The Eden Project
Lunch meeting at Monk's Yard when our guest speaker will be Dr Gordon Seabright, Chief Executive of the Eden Project in Cornwall. His talk: “The Eden Project. Transformation: it’s in our nature” will explore where it is today and where it is heading in the short/medium term. Gordon is responsible for all aspects of the project’s work and is driven by Eden’s purpose – ordinary people changing the world.
Since opening in 2000, the Visitor Centre with its massive biomes, including the largest rain forest in captivity, has had over 19 million visitors and contributed £1.9 billion into the Cornish economy – a significant example of regeneration and sustainability.
