Alumni and guests are invited to join the Cambridge Society of Dorset for their upcoming talk by Professor Joe Painter.

Professor Painter graduated from Sidney Sussex College and is currently Professor of Geography at Durham University. He has held visiting positions at the Universities of Cambridge and British Columbia, and at the Australian National University in Canberra. He specialises in urban and political geography and has published quite extensively in academic circles on ideas of boundaries, citizenship and the interaction of the state and the individual. A Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, he is also a former member of the Council of the Royal Geographical Society.

There is parking at the hall. Please arrive at 10.30am for a welcoming tea or coffee. The presentation will start sharply at 11am and after the talk and questions we will break at about 12.30pm for a carvery lunch in a nearby pub.
