Cheshire - Society Annual Lunch and AGM
It is with great pleasure that the Cambridge Society of West Cheshire and North Wales invite you to join them for the Annual General Meeting lunch on Sunday 26 November 2017. A pre-lunch drink will be served from 12.15pm, with lunch being served at 1pm.
At the AGM, the Group will present their 2018 programme. Starting on Saturday, 24 February with a talk at the Grosvenor Museum by Kevin Cootes from John Moore’s University about the Poulton Research Project and continues on Saturday, 14 April with a visit to the project. The Grosvenor museum has a temporary exhibition about Poulton until 5 November. Poulton is a small farming hamlet just outside Chester with a fascinating archaeological story to tell. Over the past twenty years, archaeologists from the Poulton Research Project have been uncovering the remains of over 10,000 years of human activity. The exhibition explores the amazing story of the site and uses artifacts found there to tell the story of a Mesolithic camp, a large Iron-Age settlement, Roman activity, a well-used medieval chapel, and a World War II airfield. Please see the museum website for more information.
The Society have recently created a Facebook page, please join the Group.
