Vancouver - Annual Boat Race Dinner
Vancouver - Annual Boat Race Dinner
This year will be the VOCS' 88th annual boat race dinner and this makes it the oldest boat race dinner in North America and the cornerstone of what has kept VOCS operating through the Great Depression, World War II, and more changes in Vancouver than anyone who paid their $1.50 to be present at the first one on March 23rd, 1929 could possibly imagine.
The Toast to the Universities will be given this year by Nicole Davison, the United Kingdom Consul General for British Columbia, the Yukon Territory, and the Northwest Territories. Nicole has been with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (the “FCO”) since 1988 and has served the FCO in South Africa, Bangladesh, Ukraine, China, and Croatia as well as, when at home in the UK, serving it in the West European, Latin American and Caribbean Departments.
We ae still working on a boat race breakfast for the morning of Saturday, 24 March but nothing as yet has been fixed - we will let you know if we do manage to confirm something!
