Alumni and guests are invited to join the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Bangalore for their boat race drinks and dinner. We are delighted to welcome two special guests for this event. They are Professor David Logan, Coulson Professor of Theoretical Chemistry and Professorial Fellow, University College, Oxford and currently Infosys Visiting Chair, Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Science. His research focusses on electronic properties of condensed matter, with particular emphasis on the roles of disorder, strong electron correlations, and their interplay. David is in Bangalore for a few months and is greatly looking forward to meeting our members. He will be accompanied by his wife.

Our second guest is Dr. Priyamvada Gopal from Churchill College, Cambridge, where she is a University Reader in Anglophone and Related Literature. Her primary interests are in colonial and postcolonial literature and theory. She has related interests in the novel; translation; gender and feminism; Marxism, critical race studies, and the politics and cultures of empire and globalisation.
