The transformation of classical art
This event has sold out.
The way in which the world was represented in the visual arts underwent a revolution in Greece in the first half of the fifth century BC.
Long treated as a revolution in artistic style, in how the human body was represented, this was also a revolution in what was represented. Greeks came to see the world quite differently. In this lecture, Professor Robin Osborne explores just how differently, and to what effect.
