The UL's current exhibition, 'Discarded history: the genizah of medieval Cairo', provides a window on the life of a community a thousand years ago – a Jewish community in the centre of a thriving Islamic empire: international in outlook, multicultural in make up, devout to its core.

The exhibition will be open the following times across the Alumni Festival weekend:
Friday, 22 September - 9am-6pm
Saturday, 23 September - 9am-4.30pm

Please note that the exhibition is closed on Sunday, 24 September.

Go behind-the-scenes

If you'd like to explore one of the UL’s greatest collections with an exhibition curator, join a tour of the exhibition on Friday, 22 September at 12pm.

Pit your wits against the UL's clue-setters

Gather your friends and crack the clues of the genizah's secrets with the UL's escape game, 'Cluescape'.
