iModules - online information
The Cambridge Alumni Relations Office (CARO) is pleased to announce the launch of additional online services. CARO has selected as its partner iModules.
What are the services?
Additional online servicesare provided via an iModules' product called Encompass. This product will allows you to log on securely to see and modify your contact details and manage e-communication preferences. CARO are using the product to streamline current services such sending out the monthly e-bulletin.
Long term plans
In time,you will also be able to search for other alumni in a secure members only online directory and book for events. Many of the Colleges and some departments already offer this functionality and CARO also wants to work closely with the Colleges and departments to ensure that when you update your details with Cambridge you need only do it once.
Data Security
Alumni security and privacy are a fundamental priority for CARO.
iModules, based in the United States, has considerable experience in data management and commitment to high standards of security and privacy. The online solution is password protected and well secured. Data will be hosted at the iModules facility in Canada in accordance with EU data protection standards. Control over data and who sees it
You can decide that you will be the only person able to view your details online. When the online directory functionality is introduced, the default settings will only display information that is already in the public domain (name, College and matriculation year) and provide a facility for other alumni to email you but without seeing your email address, which is optional. You could choose to display more or less information.
We will let you know when the directory will be launched.
Opt out
You can choose what type of communications your receive and how much to interact with the site by logging in. However, if you want to opt out of this facility entirely, please email ioptout@alumni.cam.ac.uk with the subject 'I opt out' or call +44 (0)1223 760163. We anticipate doing more by email in the future and you will miss out those communications if you opt out.
