We are pleased to announce the winner of the Sandy Ross Macdonald award for 2013 is the Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia, Cantab DC

The Group had great pleasure in announcing the award at their Festive Formal Hall event on Friday 6 December, the announcement was followed by the crowd of 150 breaking out into thunderous applaud.

The award was presented by Alison Traub, Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the recent Global Cambridge: Toronto event. Holly Peterson, Head of Alumni and Supporter Relations received the award on behalf of the Group and read out a short acceptance speech;

'The Cambridge Society of Washington DC is honored to receive the Sandy Ross-MacDonald award.

As a group, we represent more than 2,000 alumni from dozens of different countries, representing the diverse body of people who have benefited from Cambridge's unparalleled education system, and brought together into one of the most international cities in the world.

The award reflects the hard work of a small cadre of graduates who have been determined to put together world class events that reflect the values and culture of our alma mater; and it also represents the many graduates whose Cambridge experience was so life-changing that they choose to continue to be involved year after year.

It gave me great pleasure to announce last night that we had won the award, to 150 alumni gathered in Washington DC for our Christmas Formal Hall. On their behalf, we are honored to accept the Sandy Ross-MacDonald award. And, after government shutdowns bringing the US to the brink of default and broken healthcare websites, we are proud that something in Washington DC finally works.
