Cambridge Global Alumni Conference, Hong Kong
Saturday 14 - Sunday 15 April 2012
The first ever Cambridge Global Alumni Conference will be held in Hong Kong next year. On the first day of the conference, alumni are invited to join the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz
and an array of distinguished academics for a thought provoking day of discussion, lectures and networking.
Alumni Group leaders and representatives are invited to register for the Alumni Groups Leadership Conference on the following day. This day is specifically designed for alumni involved in running the global network of more than 400 volunteer-led groups. |

Cambridge Sporting Celebration Dinner
Saturday 12 May 2012
Cambridge Olympians and sporting greats will join alumni and guests for a three-course dinner to honour Cambridge sporting achievement in the spectacular surroundings of the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, London. |
Department of Genetics Centenary Symposium
2012 is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Arthur Balfour Chair of Genetics at Cambridge. To celebrate this centenary the Department of Genetics will be hosting a one-day symposium and dinner on Friday 7 September 2012 at Churchill College.
All alumni and former members of the Department are very warmly invited.

Last Expedition
7 December - 5 May
On display for the first time, are the manuscripts, including Scott's own journal, which tell the story of the Terra Nova Expedition, 1910-13.
The exhibition not only highlights the 'Worst Journey in the World' – the winter journey to collect eggs from the Emperor penguin colony at Cape Crozier – but also the largely forgotten
'Northern Party' – six men stranded for 21 months and forced to shelter from the brutal Antarctic winter in a cave dug into the snow.

ADC Theatre: European Theatre Group presents King Lear
Tuesday 17 January - Saturday 21 January
This January the European Theatre Group will return to Cambridge with its 2011/2012 international tour-show, Shakespeare's 'King Lear'.
'King Lear' is ETG's most ambitious project yet, and promises to be one of the major highlights of the ADC's Spring Season. Set in an alternative 21st century Britain, ETG's exciting new production
aims to shed new light on a familiar classic.

Burma: The Art and Culture of the Golden Land
1 November - 16 December 2012
Since May 2011 the National League for Democracy – the party of Aung Sang Suu Kyi - has been encouraging informed and respectful visits to Burma. This trip is an opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful and unspoilt countries in Asia, accompanied by Cambridge scholar Professor Janice Stargardt, who works on the environmental and historical geography and archaeology of South East Asia.

Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology
The Department will be hosting a careers event in collaboration with Cambridge University Chemical Engineering Society for Part IIB and Masters' students on Thursday 26 January. Alumni representing chemical engineering/biotechnology disciplines and career paths popular with our graduates will take part in a discussion panel moderated by a current graduate student.

The Wilberforce Society
On 13 January, Cambridge's student-run think tank, TWS, is holding its annual conference at Emmanuel College. 'Public Policy for Cyberspace' is a day-long event looking at what governments should be doing to deal with the challenges of cyberspace. This will be a significant policy event with high profile speakers. Tickets cost £40 and the booking form can be downloaded online |
Cambridge University Brass Band
Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Cambridge University Brass Band. The Group are holding a celebration commemorating this event on 5 and 6 May 2012 and would like to invite as many former members to attend as possible.

Fiji Cambridge and Oxford Alumni Group
Group Leader Deven Sharma was
recently invited to be the Chief Guest at the Annual Prize Giving Awards at two rural schools in the main island of Fiji –Viti Levu. He used this opportunity to talk to school children about Oxbridge, and gave the Dux of each school a University of Cambridge insulated cool bag.
