Sandy Ross-Macdonald
This award is presented in memory of Sandy Ross-Macdonald.
Sandy was the driving force behind the Cambridge Society of London for many years. He also served as a member of the University of Cambridge Alumni Advisory Board and the Cambridge Society Executive Committee, as well as being the founding Chair of the Networks and Volunteers Working Group.
He was one of a select group of members of the Executive Committee of the Cambridge Society who played a major role in the formation of the Cambridge Alumni Relations Office (CARO) and the University of Cambridge will be eternally grateful for his tireless work both publicly and behind the scenes.
Purpose
The Sandy Ross-Macdonald Award serves to recognise the remarkable contribution of Cambridge University's volunteer-led Alumni Groups.
The award will be presented to a Group whom the Networks and Volunteers Working Group judge as having demonstrated an outstanding level of creativity, innovation, leadership or service.
Process
- Any recognised Alumni Group listed on the CARO website can be nominated for the award.
- The Award will be presented at the Alumni Groups Global Leadership Conferences
- Nominations can be made by any alumnus/a, Alumni Group member or member of University staff by emailing CARO with the name of the Group and the reason they should receive the award.
- Nominations must be made by the stated deadline for each Leadership Conference.
- The Networks and Volunteers Working Group's decision is final and no further negotiation will be entered in to.
- Nominations which do not receive the Sandy Ross-Macdonald Award will also be considered for special mention at an Alumni Groups Leadership Conference.
