Third year student Charlotte Runcie, will be giving us an alternative countdown to exams, with her weekly 'travel guide'. Looking at the sights of exam term, the distinctive language, and the essential student exam diet, this blog is certain to get you re-living your final student days.

As the summer 2011 exam period comes to an end, we will be hearing from Paul Smith who has a place at Columbia Journalism School; follow him as he prepares to leave Cambridge for New York.

Paul Smith

Paul Smith was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and is a third year English student at Robinson College. Last year, he served as Associate Editor of Varsity, overseeing V2, the weekly magazine. He has interned at the Observer, The Times, The Sunday Times and NME, and will begin an MA in Newspaper Journalism at Columbia University, New York in August.

Charlotte Runcie

Charlotte Runcie is a third year English student at Queens'. She has edited News and Comment for Varsity and wrote a regular column for the Varsity Magazine in Michaelmas 2010. She was named Columnist of the Year at the Guardian Student Media Awards in 2009, has written for The Guardian website and The Scotsman, and is going on to study for an MA in Journalism after she graduates from Cambridge this summer.
